Ok so this update is a little late as this phenomenon occured on Friday night...but I've been busy.

I have started a new short story, and on Friday night/Saturday morning between 11.30 and 1.30 i wrote the first 2/3 of the story!

1,200 approx words!

This short story was based on a really weird and confronting dream I had last week. I used the most memorable part in the story and worked around the rest.

So far i have caught myself up to my dream and am now just trying to finish it off.

Then there will be a few revises and I will be ready to submit it to my boyfriend for reading.

Practically Dead has new life! Ever since December when I injured my knee I have been inspired to write. It started with A Blue So Dark by Holly Schindler. Aura's writing didn't really inspire me but her character for some reason did. I started thinking about writing free verse poems...something I'm not good at.

Freeverse for me just doesnt feel like poetry. Some people can pull it off, some people can't and some people think they can. I just dont want to. Ive been writing structured poetry since I was a little girl. I am trying to get out of the rhyming but I cant help it. If I put a poem stamp on words they take on a beat and occasionally rhyme.

But with the added inspiration from A Blue So Dark, also came new inspiration for Practically Dead. It's all I've been thinking about for the past couple of weeks. And this morning I finally started the summary. I think I am still putting off writing the first draft and I think I know why now.

I have some pretty good scenes and ideas - according to me - and a basic story. But i havent really fleshed out the order of the events or what they truly lead up to...whats my ending? And one really can't write a story if you dont know how it ends right?

But anyway this morning i wrote the first part of the summary for practically dead. I think it may be a little too detailed but anyway.

This is a step in a really good direction I reckon.
